Before you start
Use the Atlassian account connected to Jira, Confluence or your other Atlassian products. Organization policy can control sign-in.
Open the security settings
- Open id.atlassian.com/manage-profile/security and choose Manage two-step verification.
- Confirm your Atlassian password and choose Set up. Select Enable authenticator app when choosing a method.
Connect Authenticator
Open Authenticator and choose +. Scan the setup QR code, or use manual entry if the service provides a setup key. Give the account a recognizable label and save it. Keep the QR code and key private.
Complete Atlassian’s verification prompt using the current app code.
Keep a way back in
Record the emergency recovery key independently of your phone. An emergency recovery key is different from the setup key used to create authenticator codes.
If a code is rejected, check the account label and device time, then try a fresh code. Troubleshoot a rejected code.
