Set up 2FA for Epic Games

Before you start

Sign in to the Epic account used for Fortnite or the Epic Games Store. A Cabined Account can have different options.

Open the security settings

1. Open the Password and security section of your Epic Games account.
2. Under Two-Factor Authentication, choose Set up for the authenticator app method.

Connect Authenticator

Open Authenticator and choose +. Scan the setup QR code, or use manual entry if the service provides a setup key. Give the account a recognizable label and save it. Keep the QR code and key private.

Submit the current app code in Epic’s confirmation screen and check that the method becomes active.

Keep a way back in

Check that Epic marks the method active. If multiple methods are enabled, use the three-dot menu to select the primary method you want. Keep any recovery information Epic supplies.

If a code is rejected, check the account label and device time, then try a fresh code. Troubleshoot a rejected code.
