Set up 2FA for Twitch

Before you start

Verify your Twitch email and have a phone that can receive SMS. Use a web browser for the authenticator setup.

Open the security settings

1. Open Twitch Settings → Security and Privacy → Set Up Two-Factor Authentication.
2. Choose Enable 2FA, enter your phone number and complete the SMS verification first.

Connect Authenticator

Open Authenticator and choose +. Scan the setup QR code, or use manual entry if the service provides a setup key. Give the account a recognizable label and save it. Keep the QR code and key private.

Enter the six-digit app code in Twitch and choose Submit.

If a code is rejected, check the account label and device time, then try a fresh code. Troubleshoot a rejected code.
